About Employment First

The Wyoming Employment First Initiative was designated as a state policy in 2014 and states that competitive and integrated employment will be the first option when serving people with disabilities who are of working age to obtain employment.

Employment First is a national movement and framework for systems change that is centered on the premise that all citizens, including individuals with disabilities are capable of full participation in integrated employment and community life.

Employment First became a Wyoming State Policy in 2014. It says that competitive and integrated employment will be the first and preferred option for people with disabilities receiving assistance from publicly funded systems. Employment First applies to a wide variety of services and programs that provide support to people with disabilities.
